Working Principle

The SIT9005ACL1H-25NA programmable oscillator features a differential architecture with a high-performance voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO). The VCO is comprised of a pair of complementary transistors, a pair of varactor diodes, and a matching RF circuit. The differential architecture outputs even- and odd-order harmonics simultaneously, making the oscillator more accurate, with fewer spurious components. The transistors provide a wide frequency range and the diodes provide fine frequency control. The oscillator uses a phase-locked loop, with a phase-frequency detector, voltage-controlled phase/frequency detector and programmable divider as its components. This allows the oscillator to constantly monitor the input signal, compare it to the output signal, and adjust the output signal in order to make the two signals match. This process is then repeated to ensure that the output signal is always in-phase with the input signal.

The SIT9005ACL1H-25NA programmable oscillator also features an internal tunable amplifier as well as a programmable synthesizer.
