Programmable oscillators, also known as configurable oscillators, offer flexibility and enhanced stability compared to a fixed-frequency oscillator. Programmable oscillators are used in a wide range of applications due to their ability to be adjusted for specific frequencies and/or operating conditions.

SIT9005ACR1D-XXDG Application Field and Working Principle

SIT9005ACR1D-XXDG programmable oscillators, manufactured by Silicon Timing UK, are small devices offering high stability and low-jitter performance for frequency synthesis and clock generation applications. The oscillators come in both low-voltage and low-power versions and can be configured with a wide range of frequency bands and output clock formats.

The SIT9005ACR1D-XXDG programmable oscillator is designed for high-precision timing applications and features a Silicon Timing UK designed monolithic frequency synthesizer and crystal oscillator with an active loop-filter system. The active loop-filter system helps to reduce the effects of temperature, voltage and aging on the oscillator. In addition, the oscillator incorporates a wide range of features including low-jitter, very low noise and excellent signal-to-noise ratio, making it ideal for critical applications.

The oscillator offers a broad range of frequencies from 3 MHz to 250 MHz. In terms of frequency band selection, the SIT9005ACR1D-XXDG supports the LVCMOS, LVDS, LVPCML, LVPECL, CML, LVHSTL, and HCSL level input formats. This allows for a wide variety of clock sources to be selected to suit the specific application. Additionally, the oscillator has a programmable enable/disable pin, which allows it to be used as a general-purpose clock source.
