The SIT9005ACR1G-30EP is a programmable oscillator from Silicon Labs designed for specific applications such as timing and synchronization of data streams or for base band applications. The processor contains an output buffer circuit and a frequency synthesizer circuit which together provide the basis for the oscillator’s operation. The frequency synthesizer is a digital control circuit that provides a given output signal based on programming parameters given to it from a user. The output buffer circuit provides a low impedance analog output drive for the synthesizer\'s digitally-controlled signals and is designed to produce a clean, sine-wave shaped outputs with low noise.The SIT9005ACR1G-30EP\'s phase-locked loop is a primary component of the oscillator\'s frequency synthesizer circuit. It accomplishes this by locking its output signal to one of its inputs and then providing a tunable frequency from that single tuned reference signal. The PLL circuit consists of a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO), a charge pump, and a phase-frequency detector (PFD). When a signal is given to the PLL, the loop gain of the VCO is adjusted to match the signal and the oscillator will track the input signal by changing the voltage of the VCO.
