Programmable Oscillators

Programmable oscillators are oscillator circuits that can be manipulated to control the frequency, amplitude and phase of the output signal. It is a low profile, SMA Hybrid Oscillator based on a quartz substrate with frequency stable up to –20dBc/Hz typical. The device is rated for operation from -30°C to +85°C and is RoHS compliant. The device offers a wide frequency range from 1 kHz to 64 MHz and has a frequency adjustability of +/- 20 ppm. It is available in a hermetically sealed metal package and comes with a range of optional features including a PLL default, TTL/CMOS logic inputs, and optional logic outputs. The SIT9005ACR2H-XXED is designed to provide stable and error-free outputs in harsh environments, making it an ideal choice for use in applications such as frequency synthesis, instrumentation, radio receiving and transmitting, and precision timing. Additional features include temperature stability, tight load control and reliability in stressful thermal environments. The device also has an excellent jitter performance with an output jitter at 10 kHz of < 127 fs. The device works by taking a DC voltage and converting it into an AC signal with predefined parameters and can be operated in either direct or multiplier synthesis mode. In direct synthesis mode, a DC voltage is used to enable the VCO to output a signal at a pre-determined frequency and the amplitude of the signal is set by varying the DC control voltage. In multiplier synthesis mode, the VCO output frequency is varied by multiplying the reference frequency with a pre-set factor and the amplitude is then set by balancing the DC control voltage between two limits. The device can be set to output frequencies up to the top limit of 64 MHz and provides excellent accuracy and stability, making it an ideal choice for many applications.Overall, the SIT9005ACR2H-XXED is an excellent choice for applications that require a precise, low-noise oscillator with excellent jitter performance. It offers stability and precision in both direct and multiplier synthesis modes and can produce frequencies up to 64 MHz with excellent accuracy and reliability.
