Programmable Oscillators: SIT9005ACU1H-25EL Application Field and Working PrincipleProgrammable oscillators are electronic components that can be used to transform a wide range of input signals into sinusoidal or periodic output signals with various desired frequencies. The SIT9005ACU1H-25EL is an integrated programmable oscillator produced by Challenger-Cleveland, Inc. This product offers a fast oscillator speed of 2.5GHz and a low power consumption of 1.8 to 3.3 volts. The SIT9005ACU1H-25EL comprises of a silicon die housed in a plastic package. The die consists of a Tunable Semiconductor Oscillator (TSO) formed using a High Electron Mobility Transistor (HEMT), an input frequency register, an oscillation selector and a frequency select register. The TSO acts as an amplifier and imparts an oscillatory output signal. The input frequency register and oscillation selector determine the frequencies of the output signal while the frequency select register controls the output frequency frequency range. The SIT9005ACU1H-25EL features a low jitter of up to 2ps and a wide tuning range of 2 MHz to 50MHz. It also offers excellent noise immunity with minimal interference from external noises and radio frequencies. The oscillator can be programmed to any desired frequency by software or hardware for various applications.The SIT9005ACU1H-25EL is well suited for use in applications such as wired and wireless communications, test and measurement systems, medical instruments and industrial automation. In wireless communications, it is used to generate signals for data transmission, coding and modulation. It is used in test and measurements systems to generate signals for test and data acquisition purposes. This oscillator is used in medical instruments such as temperature and pressure sensors to generate signals used for control and monitoring purposes.
