The SMM-120-02-SM-S-P-TR is a high-quality thermoplastic rectangular header with two rows of 10 position and designed to comply with the IEC, UL and CSA standards. This connector is available in male or female devices for board-to-board, wire-to-board or IDC connections.

Application Field

The SMM-120-02-SM-S-P-TR is suitable for indoor applications and is built to deliver superior performance in a wide variety of applications including medical, automotive, LED, electronics, electrical, telecommunication, industrial, and consumer markets.

Working Principle

The SMM-120-02-SM-S-P-TR is designed to interconnect two printed circuit boards with either wire-to-board or board-to-board mating. It has 2 rows of 10 positions and also includes a retention clip that locks the mating plugs together in both horizontal and vertical directions. This connector operates in both normal and reverse conditions with operating temperature range of -25° C to +85° C.

The SMM-120-02-SM-S-P-TR has two types of mating plugs, one plug includes metal interlocking clips to snap in the other mating plug and engage it firmly, the second plug includes metal shell and reinforcement ribs which crosses through the first plug to provide extra mechanical stability.

The SMM-120-02-SM-S-P-TR also has separate retention clips to ensure perfect alignment of the two mating plugs. The clips provide vertical and horizontal stability and extra reliability. Moreover, the SMM-120-02-SM-S-P-TR can be used in applications requiring blind mating- it also includes a protrusion to guide the male plug into the socket at the proper (45°) angle.

The SMM-120-02-SM-S-P-TR features superior environmental retention due to its four corners construction, which locks the mating plug securely and provides excellent vibration resistance. It also features good resistance to mating and unmating forces making plug and disconnect operations easier. Lastly the SMM-120-02-SM-S-P-TR has excellent solder joint strength and temperature cycling performance due to its superior thermoplastic housing.
