Fixed inductors consist of an insulated wire wound onto a core material, and can be classified into several types including air core inductors, ferrite core inductors, and toroidal core inductors. Depending on the winding pattern, these inductors are further divided into shielded inductors, bifilar inductors, and monofilament inductors. Among these, one of the most commonly used inductors is the SP1008-104H inductor, which is characterized by an air core, a shielded winding, and a ceramic-ferrite core.

The SP1008-104H inductor is a self-shielded, air core solenoid-type inductor, with a winding axis perpendicular to the winding plane. It consists of two coils, one internal and one external, wrapped around a ferrite core with a ceramic isolator separating them. In the SP1008-104H inductor, when a current is passed through the internal coil, a magnetic field is induced in the ferrite core, which in turn creates a magnetic field around the external coil. This magnetic field induces an EMF in the external coil, and thus the current in the external coil is in opposition to the current in the internal coil, thus limiting the current flowing in the circuit.
