SQW-150-01-S-T is rectangular connectors which includes three general types, such as Headers, Receptacles and Female Sockets. Each type has its own application field and working principle.

Headers

Headers are usually two- or three-row connectors, with pins on both sides. It is used for many type of applications like PC motherboards, peripheral boards, testing boards, or experimental boards. The working principle is Point-to-Point, which means each pin of the header can connect to either the opposite side of the socket, or to a breadboard for testing. A pair of headers mate together by inserting the pins into the receptacles.

Receptacles

Receptacles are the sister parts to the headers. It is usually two- or three-row, and has holes on both sides. It integrated with a tension lock system, and can be used for board-level applications. The working principle is Patterned Connecting, which means the receptacles and headers need to be connected as a pair. A male pin of the header will fit into the receptacle hole, forming a reliable connection.

Female Sockets

Female Sockets are single row connectors which have pins on both sides. It is commonly used for pcb board. The working principle is Edge Connecting, which means each pin of the female socket will eliminate the need of connecting two separate boards. When the male header pins is inserted, the electrical connection between them will be established.
