SSI-LXH387YD application field and working principle

SSI-LXH387YD is a series of panel indicators, pilot lights and warning lights, designed for safety-critical applications in hazardous and explosive environments (e.g. mines, ships, power plants, refineries, construction sites).

It is designed to comply with IEC, ATEX, FM, CCC, UL, CSA certification. It offers a wide variety of configuration options, from single-colour red, green, yellow and blue through to multiple-colour combinations. It can be used in 70-100VAC or 10-15VDC systems with electrical ratings up to 0.125A.

The SSI-LXH387YD series is constructed from robust polycarbonate and the stainless steel bezel provides a robust, waterproof, dustproof and corrosion-resistant seal. The light housing also has an integrated shock protection plate and is designed with heavy-duty, flame resistant materials, in order to ensure waterproof protection for extreme conditions. The LED is embedded in a black silicone, which is then covered by a clear acrylic to ensure longest life.

Working Principle

To activate the SSI-LXH387YD, the user first has to turn on the power switch and then press the indicator button. If the power is on and the button is pressed once, the indicator will blink blue and then turn on red, indicating that the SSI-LXH387YD is ready to be used.

When the indicator is activated, the LED light is lit up in one of the different colours depending on the status of the equipment. For example, a green light could indicate that the equipment is running, while a yellow light could indicate that it is in standby mode or that some maintenance needs to be done. A red light could indicate that there is a fault and that the unit needs to be shut down immediately.
