SSL-LX305F4LID LED Indication - Discrete (LID) device is a compact miniature device designed to inspect and provide a feedback on a variable text field. The device finds applications primarily in industries, including automotive, software and communications, instrumentation, military, aerospace and health care sectors, as well as being a critical component in various process controllers, zero-position switches and indicating systems.LID devices employ a solid-state diode array on each side which consists of a number of solid-state laser emission diodes that are configured to emit light in precise wavelengths for different applications. This array of diodes is placed on an opaque sheet which carries the text depictions. The emitted light from these diodes reflects off the text depiction, creating an intense light pattern detected by a phototransistor on the other side.Since the LID device is an integrated component, the diode arrays must communicate with one another and activate the LED when the code is received. This communication must be extremely precise and accurate, as the intensity of the light emitted is integral to the accuracy of the indication. Therefore, the diode array is accurately mounted and secured in the device and wired with precision cables and connectors that provide reliable data transmission.In order to accurately detect the intensity of the light emitted, the LID device is configured in such a way that it has an advanced optical sensing system with an angle of view optimized for the text size and spacing. Moreover, an engineered sensor lens is used to accurately detect the light from the diodes on the diode array.The optical sensing system is also connected to the wavelength control circuit, which also helps in accurately detecting the intensity of the light emitted. This circuit is usually calibrated with a laser source to ensure optimum performance.Due to the size and complexity of the LID device, some industrial devices require additional components to ensure stable operation. This is done by either hardwiring devices together or through wireless connectivity.The wireless connection is usually done through a Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection, which allows both devices to share information between each other through a specific protocol based on Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. This ensures absolute stability between the devices. The Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection can be used to program the radiocom, allowing for complete remote control of the device from a user interface.The lighting elements of the LID device also need to be connected in a particular way. Vibration and temperature must be controlled at all times to provide a stable and consistent output. The LID device must also have sufficient voltage levels to ensure the light is of sufficient intensity and quality. All these elements are regulated using a control circuit located in the device housing.The LID device is a critical component for the production of LED indicators in various industrial environments.
