When these contact pins are needed to connect to the external circuitry, the metal contact pin needs to move outward, which is usually explained as "extending" the contact pin. The mechanism that allows the contact pins to be extended is the friction or ratchet pawl mechanism. This connector relies on spring force to generate the pulling force necessary for electrical connection, that is, each contact pin of SSM-104-S-DV-LC is connected to a displacement spring, and the displacement is driven by a claw when connected.
