The SSM-105-FM-SH-TR is a rectangular connector of the header-style variety. With recessed walls on the side associated with the housing and the terminal assemblies, the connector is designed for applications that include but are not limited to telecom, spacecraft, computer, automotive and other industrial electronic products. Headers, receptacles, female sockets are all components of this rectangular connector.

The components of the SSM-105-FM-SH-TR rectangular connector are divided into four parts: Housing, Terminals, Cushioning, and Retainer. The housing of the connector is made of molded material, either plastic or metal, with its main purpose being to hold the terminals in place and protect them. It is designed with two walls that run perpendicular to the terminals, helping to keep the terminals from movement when in use.
