Rectangular Connectors - Headers, Receptacles, Female Sockets
SSW-101-24-F-P is a 75 ohm coaxial connector. It’s a member of the family of miniature, light-weight, highly reliable and waterproof rectangular connectors, also known as headers, receptacles and female sockets. Other members of the family include SSW-101-24-S-P, SSW-101-29-S-P, SSW-101-30-S-P, SSW-101-40-S-P, and SSW-101-50-S-P.
SSW-101-24-F-P is designed for use in frequency bands of DC to 3GHz. It’s made of PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate) thermoplastic. Its gold plated contacts are soldered to the circuit board. It can support a wide range of operating temperatures, ranging from -40°C to +125°C. It’s widely used in many consumer electronic and telecommunications applications such as mobile phones, tablets, antennas, remote controls, and wireless networks.
Application Field
SSW-101-24-F-P is used mainly for DC to 3GHz frequency bands. It’s widely used in consumer electronic and telecommunications applications, such as:
- Mobile phones
- Tablets
- Antennas
- Remote controls
- Wireless networks
Working Principle
SSW-101-24-F-P uses two rectangular contacts. The one in the center is an insulated center conductor that carries the signal. The outer rectangular contact is the shield and it blocks out noise and interference. When the connector is plugged in, the center conductor makes contact with the mating connector\'s center conductor, while the shield of the connector makes contact with the mating connector\'s shield. The result is a hermetic seal that prevents moisture, dust, and other contaminants from entering the connection.
Because of the rectangular shape, the contacts can make contact with the mating connector at up to three points. This results in a stronger connection that can withstand greater forces, vibration, and temperature fluctuations than other connector types.
SSW-101-24-F-P has a locking mechanism. When the connector is inserted, the locking mechanism clicks into place, ensuring that the connection won\'t come loose or vibrate loose over time. Its small size also makes it ideal for space-constrained applications and tight enclosures.
