The SSW-109-21-SM-S is a rectangular connector developed to deliver a secure connection in multiple applications. This multi-application lens-style connector features a low profile that is both space-saving and durable. This two part connector includes a mated pair - a female socket and header. The SSW-109-21-SM-S two part series are specifically designed to fit SMC/SMT technology.
Applications: The SSW-109-21-SM-S connector is found to be ideal for applications such as clamshell and notebook users, hard drive enclosures, base station and mobile radio applications, portable and battery operated consumer electronics and data communications. It is suitable for a wide range of signal applications ranging from power and ground to shielded and twisted pair wire.
Working Principle: The female socket side typically gets mounted onto the PCB situated at the mating face of the Header side. This contacts are engaged with a positive click mechanism that confirms a correctly engaged connection. The effective fixing of the contacts are guaranteed by an integrated moulded clip on the female socket.
The Header side of the SSW-109-21-SM-S contacts are based on current technology advancement with a two-point contact. It features 53 contacts, a 2.2mm pitch, a 1.25mm top and 1.75mm bottom, as well as a 6.68mm width. This male connection includes a dual retention system containing a wave washer and two dimples on its bottom. Its features offer an appropriate contact resistance. This connector also features an integrated keyed block that prevents mis-mating.
