Rectangular connectors - headers, receptacles, female sockets - are used to gain effective electrical connection in various applications. This particular rectangular connector type, SSW-131-02-S-D is a 2 circuits standard female socket connector. It is compatible with any 2 mm dupont pin and designed to be used with Internal PC Board Male connector.

The SSW-131-02-S-D connector is an industry standard interface type, with a plastic insulator body and two metal pins. The design does not include a locking mechanism, consequently the creation of a reliable connection relies solely on the friction between the components. This friction is created when the two metal pins of the female socket are inserted in the male plug. The socket provides two circuits connections with an available voltage up to 250V AC and a maximum current capacity of 1A. The electric contact resistance is low and maintains a good electrical connection even after extended usage.

Most of these connectors have access to the Insulator base shells, where a shorting bar is used to close the PID loop and provide a complete gasket system. This aluminum or copper bar is either soldered, crimped or snap fitted in the connector system.
