ST3384EBDR is a full-duplex transceiver that provides speed and reliability for low-level and long-distance signal transmissions. The 16-bit encoder creates four packet header bytes from the sixteen data bits sent from the Enhanced Serializer.The ST3384EBDR receiver includes the 16-bit Reed-Solomon decoder and the Enhanced Deserializer. The receiver state machine automatically controls the Acceptance Criteria, allowing the decoder to adjust the error threshold ranges and the error check process. The Enhanced Deserializer takes the 16 bit Reed-Solomon decoded data, reassembles it into 8-bit packets, and transfers it to the UART interface.The ST3384EBDR also includes an integrated interrupt controller to enable transparent communications. The interrupt controller continuously monitors the status of the data transmission and reception. It sends signals to the host processor to indicate data ready, data accepted and data transfer status. The interrupt controller also supports interrupt driven transmission and reception to minimize system overhead.Overall, the ST3384EBDR is an ideal solution for low-power, low-latency and reliable data communications. It provides a full-duplex data link that can easily be integrated into existing systems.
