The SY100S360JC is a parity generator/checker which is used to detect errors within binary-coded digital data. It is comprised of four logic blocks and can function both as a parity generator and parity checker.

The four logic blocks which make up the SY100S360JC are the parity generator/checker, FIFO memory, data selector, and receive/transmit serializer/deserializer. The parity generator/checker utilizes a parity algorithm to generate or check the parity bit. The FIFO memory stores the data and the associated parity bits. The data selector allows the user to designate which of the four logic blocks to use. The receive/transmit serializer/deserializer is responsible for handling the exchanged data transmitted between the SY100S360JC and other external devices.
