Working Principle

The SY100S834ZC uses a charge pump PLL architecture. The PLL consists of a phase detector, a loop filter, an analog control voltage generator, an oscillator and a frequency divider. The phase detector compares the input clock frequency with the output of the VCO. The voltage control output then adjusts the capacitor of the loop filter to bring the output of the VCO close to the input frequency. The output of the loop filter is used to control the frequency of the VCO.

The SY100S834ZC also uses an on-chip offset voltage generator which is used to adjust the output frequency of the VCO by adding/subtracting a bias voltage to the control voltage from the loop filter.
