The SY10EL38LZG-TR is a device in the family of Clock/Timing - Clock Generators, PLLs, Frequency Synthesizers. This device is a high performance three-channel LVPECL clock generator. It enables the increased performance and flexibility of multiple frequency synthesis while conserving board space. The SY10EL38LZG-TR is designed with multiple output configurations, low jitter and low skew.The SY10EL38LZG-TR provides on-chip phase-locked loop (PLL) circuits that accept a single external reference clock input. It can be configured to generate one multi-output clock at different frequencies, or multiple independent clocks. With control logic and a phase detector, the on-chip PLL can multiply the frequency of the reference clock and generate multiple base frequencies from that source. The selection of output phase, frequency, and single and multi-phase output configuration can be managed through the use of external control pins.The SY10EL38LZG-TR offers a differential PECL (Positive Emitter Coupled Logic) where the true and complementary outputs from the same differential buffer stage of the PLL are connected together. This allows the user to program more than one output of the PLL that is used in the multi-phase mode. The true and complementary signals of the outputs are differential signals that are symmetrical in amplitude and phase with respect to the supply voltages. This reduces the jitter on the same output. Additionally, this device also offers a low skew between outputs that enables highly precise clock timing requirements.In ST\'s SY10EL38LZG-TR, the PLL filters can be programmed to obtain maximum performance, while the overall performance of the device is greatly enhanced by the ultra low-jitter design of the oscillator. These features enable the device to support reliable high performance clock solutions in a variety of demanding applications, including system clock management, telecom, and video broadcasting.The SY10EL38LZG-TR is ideal for applications where a wide input frequency range, ultra-low jitter, skew-symmetry, and a single reference clock are required.
