The SY58601UMG-TR is part of NXP’s High Speed Logic family and is designed for applications requiring high data rate, high I/O count and very low on-resistance. The device combines NXP’s advanced Silicon Master family of high-speed LVTTL buffers with its cutting-edge ECL transceiver technologies. The SY58601UMG-TR is used to transmit or receive ECL data between a LVTTL bus and a ECL bus. It is capable of transmitting/receiving data at up to 5Gbps, and is well suited for use in high speed applications such as high speed communication, automotive, and digital television.
The SY58601UMG-TR is a special logic device, specifically designed for ECL-LVTTL data transfers. The device has an on-chip digital pair with full LVTTL-input data capture, a single-ended ECL-LNS output flip-flop and a Negative Going Threshold Detector. The device also includes 3-state outputs. The SY58601UMG-TR also contains a built-in multi-layer backplane termination circuit as well as a voltage regulator.
The SY58601UMG-TR is designed for use in applications where low noise performance is required. It can be used in systems such as storage area networks, fiber channel, high-speed telecommunications and Ethernet switching. The device is available in RoHS compliant pkg (TSSOP) and it has a wide operating temperature range from –40 °C to +85 °C.
The SY58601UMG-TR logic device operates in two modes: Master and Slave. The Master mode is used when the SY58601UMG-TR is making ECL data transfers from the system bus to the ECL bus. In this mode, the device is responsible for generating and detecting the required high-speed ECL signals. The Slave mode is used when the SY58601UMG-TR is receiving ECL data from the ECL bus and transferring it to the system bus. In this mode, the device is responsible for decoding, generating and detecting the required low speed LVTTL signals.
The SY58601UMG-TR is based on industry-leading ECL transceiver technology. The device is shielded against ground-loop and noise, providing exceptional signal integrity and low jitter performance. The device features integrated 3-state outputs, enabling high speed signaling over long distances. The built-in termination circuit helps to reduce the system power consumption and helps to ensure compatibility with other ECL I/O standards.
