The SY89231UMG integrates an external crystal oscillator circuit, enabling the generation of a wide range of frequencies from a single, low-cost quartz crystal. The device also integrates a Programmable Frequency Divider, enabling complex modulation and synchronization schemes.The clock frequency that the SY89231UMG produces is determined by an external quartz crystal, a low-cost, low-power component that can be highly accurate over wide temperature ranges and is available in a variety of sizes and types. The device integrates a saturable core circuit to precisely match the frequency of the externally applied quartz crystal. With this integration, complex modulation and synchronization schemes are enabled, making this device ideal for applications such as frequency synthesis, crystal oscillators, pulse width modulation, or phase lock loop (PLL) applications.The SY89231UMG is highly integrated, configured to minimize component count by combining features into a single component. This component eliminates the need for additional, discrete passive components such as inductors and capacitors, reducing board space and component count. To further reduce component count and board space, the device also integrates a Programmable Frequency Divider and a programmable gain/loss amplifier, allowing for precise frequency and timing control.The SY89231UMG is well-suited for a variety of applications, including clock and timing generation, frequency synthesis, PLLs, crystal oscillators, pulse width modulation, and low-speed data communications. In the frequency synthesis application, the device can be used to generate precise reference frequencies for a variety of applications. The PLL application enables the SY89231UMG to lock onto a reference signal, providing precise control and synchronization.
