Working Principle

A thick layer of tantalum pentasulfide is applied to the inside of the capacitor case. The polymer electrolyte is then added to the surfaces of the tantalum pentasulfide and forms a positive charge. A tantalum negative foil is then added to the negative electrode and the capacitor is charged using a direct current (DC) source. The current causes ions to move from the negative electrode to the positive electrode, which generates the capacitance. Thus, when a voltage is applied to the capacitor, the polymer electrolyte is polarized and the capacitor stores electrical energy.
