Tantalum – Polymer CapacitorsTantalum – polymer capacitors are a type of electrolytic capacitors which are made of two components. The first component is a tantalum anode, which is formed as a sintered structure and coated with a solid electrolyte. The second component is a polymer electrolyte also known as dielectric.Tantalum – polymer capacitors offer several distinct advantages over traditional electrolytic capacitors. For one, they are more reliable and highly stable when compared to traditional electrolytic capacitors. This makes them ideal for high temperature and hostile environment applications. Furthermore, unlike traditional electrolytic capacitors which require large voltage in order to operate, tantalum – polymer capacitors operate at relatively low voltages.
