Tantalum - Polymer CapacitorsT540B226M010AH8710 is a type of surface-mount electric double-layer capacitor (also known as EDLCs, electric double-layer capacitors, supercapacitors, and electric capacitors) that utilize tantalum and polymer technology to deliver high-performance, low-cost solutions for consumer, industrial, and automotive applications.The T540B226M010AH8710 electric double-layer capacitor is a low-profile package that delivers a very high capacitance density and high ripple current capability. The electric-double-layer capacitor uses a sandwich of tantalum and polymer layers to construct a high-capacity single-cell capacitor. The non-conductive polymeric electrolyte material is sandwiched between two layers of positive and negative electrodes, allowing the capacitor to have a charge capacity of 0.8 Farads.This capacitance value is much higher than standard electrolytic capacitors and means that a relatively small package can theoretically supply more energy than a larger electrolytic capacitor. The capacitance is also maintained over a wide temperature range, from -40°C to +85°C. This is compared to conventional electrolytic capacitors, which typically have an operating temperature range of -25°C to +85°C.The T540B226M010AH8710 capacitors also have an extremely low equivalent series resistance (ESR), which contributes to their high ripple current capability.
