Tantalum - Polymer Capacitors
Tantalum - polymer capacitors are a type of electrolytic capacitor which uses a layer of tantalum powder as an anode and are a hybrid of tantalum and polymer electrolytic capacitors. With their excellent volumetric efficiency in comparison to tantalum/electrolytic capacitors, they are becoming increasingly popular in many applications and are finding themselves in such areas as automotive, industrial and telecommunications.The T541X476K030BT8710 is a type of Tantalum - polymer capacitor, and is used for the power supply of electronic systems. It is a low side, single-ended, ESR compensation capacitor. This capacitor is able to work at a voltage rating of 15V and with a capacitance of 4.7µF. The T541X476K030BT8710 also has a low equivalent series resistance (ESR) of 0.3 Ohms and a large temperature coefficient of capacitance (200ppm/°C). This makes the T541X476K030BT8710 ideal for applications that need high current and rapid voltage reduction over a wide temperature range.The working principle of the T541X476K030BT8710 is similar to other electrolytic and tantalum capacitors, in that they act as charge reservoir and conductors between points of different potential. When it is charged, the capacitor can store and let go of electricity, thus regulating current flow and providing a lower ESR than other types of capacitor. A tantalum - polymer capacitor consists of two components: a tantalum anode and a polymer electrolyte. The anode is made of sintered tantalum powder and provides the electrical storage. The electrolyte is a liquid polymer that serves as the separator between the anode and cathode, and also provides the ion movement as the capacitor is charged or discharged. The anode of the T541X476K030BT8710 is a sintered powder of almost pure tantalum and the electrolyte is a solid environmentally friendly polymer.The advantages of the T541X476K030BT8710, compared to other types of capacitor, lies in its ability to work at a lower voltage and with a good capacitance to volume ratio.
