The TA-33.000MBD-T is a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) module made by Texas Instruments. The device is designed to provide a stable frequency output from 0.1 Hz to 33.000 MHz, with a typical accuracy and stability of 0.1 ppm over its entire operating range. It is typically used in oscillator based applications such as frequency synthesizers, frequency counters, signal generators, communication systems, etc. The TA-33.000MBD-T is based on a voltage controlled oscillator using a programmable digital divider circuit. A programmable digital divider circuit provides a variable duty cycle to the clock input of the VCO macrocell , which in turn controls the frequency output of the device. The duty cycle is controlled by a digitally controlled oscillator (DCO) that is programmed via an 8 bit word. The digital divider has two programmable ranges to allow it to precisely set the output frequency over its entire operating range. The TA-33.000MBD-T also features a programmable divider ratios and unique mode control settings, allowing it to be used in a variety of applications. The module incorporates two types of crystal oscillators, a high oscillator and a low oscillator, to provide frequency stability and control. Two frequency control inputs are provided, allowing users to either manually control the frequency of the VCO or digitally control it via a DAC. The device also contains various features such as a power supply sequencing circuit, dedicated noise reduction blocks, and adjustable frequency control voltage.In addition to its features, the TA-33.000MBD-T also offers a wide operating temperature range (-40°C to +125°C). It has a low phase noise (0.1degC adjacent channel crosstalk) and high output level (15 dBm Linear Output Power). Moreover, the device is RoHS compliant and lead-free.
