Oscillators
TC-32.263MBD-T is an oscillator primarily used for time to digital converters, or TDC/ADC applications. It is sometimes referred to as a “quadruple oscillator” due to its four-channel design. The TC-32.263MBD-T has numerous features that make it a necessary tool for many critical TDC/ADC applications.
The oscillator has four independent, fully-adjustable frequency outputs, each with a different frequency range. These are the low band, mid band, high band, and ultra-high band outputs. The low band output ranges from 10 to 1100 KHz, while the mid band output ranges from 2 to 22 MHz. The high band output ranges from 13 to 220 MHz, and the ultra-high-band output ranges from 30 to 500 MHz. In addition to the various output frequency settings, the oscillator also has two external clock signals, allowing the user to synchronize multiple oscillators with minimal effort.
The TC-32.263MBD-T is also designed to be highly reliable. The oscillator has an integrated temperature-compensation processor that helps ensure the stability of its outputs at different temperatures. This is important for applications where temperature fluctuations can cause errors. The oscillator is also immune to magnetic fields, making it suitable for applications where electromagnetic interference is a concern.
The working principle of the TC-32.263MBD-T is based on a length-of-delay (LD) or charge-pumped (CP) design. In a LD design, the oscillator generates a sine wave by using feedback between two capacitors. The two capacitors are charged and discharged at a certain rate, causing the oscillator to oscillate at a specific frequency. In a CP design, the oscillator is created by using two charge pumps which “push” charges back and forth in a resonant circuit. This results in an oscillating frequency that is determined by the size of the charge pumps and their respective capacitances.
The TC-32.263MBD-T oscillator is suitable for a variety of TDC/ADC applications. It is able to maintain a highly stable frequency output when used in the proper temperature range, making it a powerful tool for precision TDC/ADC applications. Moreover, the oscillator is also immune to magnetic fields, making it a safe choice for applications that are prone to electromagnetic interference.
