TC-38.400MDD-T Application Field and Working Principle

An oscillator is an electronic circuit that generates a periodic, oscillating electronic signal without input from any other source. It is an important part of numerous electronic devices, from almost all kinds of digital circuitry and in radio receivers and transmitters. Examples are voltage-controlled oscillators, temperature-compensated crystal oscillators (TCXOs), phase-locked loop (PLL) oscillators, frequency synthesizers, and quartz-crystal oscillators.TC-38.400MDD-T is a general-purpose temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO). It utilizes a special feed-forward compensation technique to compensate for the temperature drift of a quartz crystal oscillator. The TC-38.400MDD-T is designed to provide the most optimal performance in a wide range of temperature ranges including operating temperatures from -40°C to 125°C. TCXOs are widely used in digital circuits including automotive electronics, telecom, and BlueTooth. The TCXO module uses a quartz crystal as the resonator and digital temperature-compensation techniques to compensate for the frequency of the quartz crystal. This makes the TCXO resistor insensitive to environmental temperature variations. Due to its high precision and excellent temperature stability, the TC-38.400MDD-T is perfect for applications such as GPS systems, satellite and wireless communications, portable medical equipment, navigation aids, imaging and laser systems, and other high-end applications that require stable frequency and timing references. The TC-38.400MDD-T works by using a feedback loop to first identify the frequency of the oscillator module’s crystal and then to adjust it to a desired frequency. This loop also monitors the temperature of the crystal and regulates the output based on the changes in temperature. The primary components of the TC-38.400MDD-T are the resonator, the frequency-determining circuitry, the temperature-compensating circuitry, and the matching circuit (which prevents reflection of the output signal). The resonator is one of the most important components, as it\'s the most sensitive component to temperature-induced frequency drift. The resonator of the TC-38.400MDD-T is made with a quartz crystal and can achieve a range of output frequencies from 8 KHz to 40 MHz.The frequency-determining circuitry is responsible for establishing the frequency of the output signal. The TC-38.400MDD-T uses a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO). This is a variable-frequency oscillator whose output can be varied by inputting data into the VCO. It has an associated internal temperature compensating circuitry which adjusts the output frequency according to changes in the environmental temperature. The temperature-compensating circuitry of the TC-38.400MDD-T monitors the environment temperature and adjusts the output frequency to mitigate any frequency drift of the quartz crystal caused by a change in environment temperature. The matching circuitry of the TC-38.400MDD-T prevents the output signal from being reflected and prevents the output frequency from being affected by any external noise. The matching circuitry can be adjusted, depending on the application, with separate control pins for the output impedance and the input prevent conductor noise.Overall, the TC-38.400MDD-T is an ideal choice for applications requiring excellent performance in the presence of thermal variations. This TCXO ensures optimal performance and provides an extremely stable output, even in the presence of environmental temperature variations. The TC-38.400MDD-T can be used in GPS systems, satellite and wireless communications, portable medical equipment, navigation aids, imaging and laser systems, and other high-end applications that require stable frequency and timing references.
