TC6502P045VCTTR is belonging to the solid state thermostat family and is a temperature sensor designed for multiple types of applications. It contains a heating element which is activated by the temperature change of the environment by utilizing the principle of Joule’s law, thus closing or opening the electric contact. Its single pole, double throw normally closed output gives the user the ability to protect code sensitive loads such as microprocessors in accordance with their needs.
This temperature sensor can be used to detect all types of temperature range, allowing the user to precisely control and prevent dangerous temperature swings in the desired environment. For example, this type of thermostat can be used to detect the changes in cooling fan speed in order to keep the temperature of the processor within its own specifications. In addition, this type of thermostat can also be used to monitor the temperature in Freezer/Refrigerator, water temperature, motor temperature, and other applications where temperature control is necessary.
The working principle of this temperature sensor is quite simple. It utilizes the principles of Joule’s law to convert the temperature change of the environment into electric current. This electric current will cause a heating element to activate, which in turn will close or open the electric contact within the thermostat. This process is also known as bimetallic temperature sensing.
The design of the bimetallic element is such that it comprises two plates of different materials bonded together. These materials react differently to heat, the metal reacting faster than the other. As the temperature of the environment rises, the metal will expand more faster than the other plate, thus causing the bimetallic element to bend and activate the heating element within the thermostat. When activated, the heating element will then cause the contact to close, thus activating the protection code.
TC6502P045VCTTR is a good temperature sensor for all kinds of applications.
