The TC7S00FU LF is a CMOS quad Schmitt-trigger device which features four independent Schmitt-triggers and an output open-drain circuit. Developed by Toshiba Semiconductor and Storage, the device belongs to the family of logic gates and inverters. The TC7S00FU LF application fields are primarily related to analog and digital signal processing applications, including wireless communication systems and power management applications. The device is highly functional and is suitable for applications such as digital filters, audio and video processing circuits, low-frequency noise elimination and digital signal recognition. It is available in a wide range of packages including, SO14, QFP32, QFP28, TSSOP16 and so on. The TC7S00FU LF working principle can be demonstrated with a classic CMOS inverter, where the switching of the transistor is regulated by the input voltage. An input slightly above the upper threshold voltage VHI triggers the transistor to switch from the on to the off state. Similarly, if the input voltage is slightly below the lower threshold voltage VLO, the transistor switches from the off to the on state. The existence of two distinct voltage thresholds for both logic elements (0 and 1) allows for hysteresis, which greatly improved the noise immunity of the device when compared to non-hysteretic circuits such as TTLs. The TC7S00FU LF operates with a supply voltage of 2.7 to 5.5 volts, which makes it very suitable for low-power applications. With a propagation delay of 14.5ns and 4 bit latency, the device is quite fast. In addition, the device can also be programmed to operate in a low-power shutdown mode, ensuring robust power management.Finally, the device has high noise immunity and is resistant to static electricity, making it a very reliable and versatile device. It is also highly cost-efficient, being one of the most popular devices used in analog and digital signal processing application.
