Common mode chokes are special filters for suppressing electromagnetic interference. They consist of a coil wound around an iron core and split into two halves. The device is used for suppressing common-mode noise in electronic circuits. TCK-045 is a kind of common mode choke which is designed for today’s EMC environment.

The application field of TCK-045 is broad, such as power line, communication signal line, data line and instrumentation line. Its working frequency range is from 10KHz to 1MHz. The rated current will get decrease when working frequency exceeds 500KHz. That is, the absorption characteristic of TCK-045 shows that it has good low frequency common mode noise attenuation ability, which is especially suitable for audio and voice applications.

Moreover, TCK-045 has a wind-band structure and a built-in bipole filter to reduce differential and common-mode interference. The high permeability ferrite core effectively strengthens the ability of noise suppression. The even surface appears no wave on the current path of wind band, and the reluctance does not affect each other, so it can effectively attenuate medium and high frequency interference.

Furthermore, TCK-045 features an excellent ability to reduce signal distortion and voltage depression, and good failure suppression as well. Its 20% working frequency bandwidth can greatly reduce the signal distortion of digital signal and protect the stability of the system. It also can effectively reduce the transmission delay of both differential and common-mode signals, suppressing fading noise and signal loss.

The working principle of TCK-045 is based on electromagnetism. The wind-band structure is constructed by tightly wound multiple turns of wire around a ferrite core. The high permeability core constrains the magnetic field to keep the coil from saturating. The magnetic field generated by the coil and the ferrite core creates an “electromagnetic shield” that diverts common-mode current and attenuates the noise.

The wind-band structure of TCK-045 also allows for a wide range of comfort levels of high voltage AC or DC operation. The bipolar filter of the device also performs an important role in damping differential noise in the circuit. The outer shield minimizes pick-up of noise by radiations.

TCK-045 also has a unique combination of high-bandwidth, low-propagation-delay, low-resistance, and low-inductance, which provides strong common-mode noise suppression. Such features make it one of the most effective noise suppression solutions in the industry.
