Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs) are essential components in many electronic systems for adapting signals from the analog domain into the digital domain. Application Field of THS1401EVM

Working Principle of THS1401EVM

The THS1401EVM works on the principle of conversion of analog signals to digital signals. It consists of the THS1401 ADC and the MCU. The ADC is a low-power, 12-bit, 1.2 MSPS analog-to-digital converter with analog input ranges from 0 V to 2.5 V, multiple data streaming applications, and high-speed multiplexing. The MCU consists of an embedded ARM Cortex-M4 processor. The ADC and the MCU are connected via SPI and provide data streaming capabilities to the system with low latency.

The ADC module converts the input analog signal into a 12-bit digital signal. The MCU reads the digital signal and performs digital signal processing to control the ADC. The MCU and ADC are connected via SPI. The MCU issues commands to the ADC and the ADC responds with data. The ADC supports four data streaming modes: time-stamped sample mode, dual-channel data streaming mode, multiplexing data stream mode, and rapid continuous data streaming mode.
