TLC5942PWPR is a PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuit), and one of its functions is LED driver. The working principle of the TLC5942PWPR LED driver is based on the "Sink/Source" current configuration. It has two separate current regulation circuits inside, one is to sink the current, the other is to source the current. It has two 24-bit functional registers, by setting and controlling the values in these registers, the LED driver can control the current , power, polarity and output patterns very precisely.

It features 16 LED outputs and no LED current sharing under full LED loading condition, which can ensure the uniformity of LED brightness. It also equipped with an internal temperature sensor to maximize the brightness of LED accuracy within the environment range.

The TLC5942PWPR LED driver also comes with Sleep and Shutdown functions, which allows the user to put the IC in lower power consumpation. It includes several external terminals, it has the ability to mask the output at the level of 4 segments and 4 LEDs respectively.
