Analog to Digital Converters (ADCs) are an essential part of many electronic systems, providing the bridge between analog world and digital world. The TLV2542EVM Application Field and Working Principle provides an excellent platform to populate this gap. It is a stand-alone device that converts analog signals into digital values in 2.4V-5.5V range.
The TLV2542EVM is a complete evaluation system consisting of a TLV2542 evaluation board and a TLV2542EVM software module, which allows users to easily evaluate the performance, features and application of the TLV2542A2 multi-channel high speed 12-bit analog-to-digital converter with programmable gain capability. The evaluation board provides a variety of input sources, including a potassium titanyl phosphate (KTP) laser diode, a programmable gain amplifier, a 10-bit digital potentiometer, as well as a USB controller. TLV2542EVM comprises a power supply for generating stable power for the converter, and provides voltage reference, current sense, and an adjustable capacitor bank for fine adjustment of converter supply voltage. The internal connections include a signal conditioning and digital output connection to the control system, which are accessible via a dedicated interface port. For ease of use, the chip can be accessed via a standard serial interface, or via a JTAG connection.
