The TMMS-115-01-L-Q-RA-FS is a slightly larger version of the TMMS-112-6A-RA-FS rectangle connector header with male pins, designed to fit printed circuit boards (PCBs) with a pin spacing of 1.5mm. It features two rows of eight 1.5 mm-pitch pins spread over a 45.6 mm x 10.4 mm package size. This connector header can be used with multiple board-to-cable configurations, making it ideal for a wide range of applications that require small, robust connections.

Application

The TMMS-115-01-L-Q-RA-FS connector header is best suited for a variety of low-power and data transmission applications. Such applications include medical equipment, automotive electronics, digital instruments, multi-media integrations, and many others requiring connections between a PCB and a cable. This connector’s two rows of eight pins allow it to be used for a variety of multi-conductor connections.

Design

The connector header is designed with a thermoplastic housing, which is compliant to UL-94V-0 flammability rating and lead-free for RoHS compliance. The connector’s contact design includes a stamped and formed brass contact with a gold plated contact area. It also features phosphor bronze interleaved square pin contacts which are plated with gold at the contact area and tin at the tail. The contact volume (body) is reinforced by tightened screws and the gold plated bezel area ensures a secure contact and reliable connections.

Working Principle

The TMMS-115-01-L-Q-RA-FS is designed to be used in a board-to-cable connectivity application. To ensure a secure connection, the connector header’s thermoplastic housing and contact areas are designed to fit into a standard 1.5 mm-pitch printed circuit board (PCB). Once in the PCB, the connector header’s pins will securely engage the pins on the cable end. The contact areas are designed to create a reliable connection with low electrical resistance and offer superior EMI/RFI protection.

The connector header is rated for a maximum operating temperature of 120°C, a minimum temperature rating of -55°C, and a maximum current rating of 3A. This allows it to handle most typical applications that involve current flow. The header is also rated for a maximum voltage rating of 200 VAC, and a maximum withstand voltage of 500 VAC, enabling the connection to safely transfer power and data signals across the connection with minimal disruption.
