TVS - Varistors, MOVs - Application Field and Working Principle of TMOV34S461MPX2696TransZorb MOVs (Transient Voltage Suppressors) are well-known Solid State Devices used in many electronics and therefore also in the electronics manufacturing. TMOV34S461MPX2696 is one such MOV developed and manufactured by Littelfuse, Inc. This MOV serves as a protector device used for protecting equipment from transients, surge events and inductive switching. The TMOV34S461MPX2696 consists of two diodes, two bi-directional thyristors and special circuitry that makes it sensitive to overvoltage events. It has a clamping voltage of 6.14V and a response time of 1.6 ms. The device has an operating temperature range from -55 °C to +125 °C and has a wide capacitance range from 0.1 pF to 3.3 nF. It is applicable to a variety of applications, including automotive, computer, medical and telecom. The working principle of TMOV34S461MPX2696 is simple and it works during overvoltage events.
