Digital Signal Processors (DSPs) are embedded systems used to process digital signals in hardware, including audio, video and image compression, data manipulation, cryptography, embedded controllers and more. The TMS320C82GGP50 is a low-cost, single-chip embedded system designed for encoding, decoding and processing digital signals. It incorporates a powerful microcontroller core, and a large array of digital signal processing (DSP) accelerators and memory controllers.

At the heart of the TMS320C82GGP50 is a 200MHz, 32-bit processor core, with four configurable lockstep accumulators that can perform 32-bit, 16-bit or 8-bit operations to facilitate higher resolution signal processing. The processor also supports a range of communication architectures, including I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet, USB and Bluetooth.

The TMS320C82GGP50 is equipped with a large array of specialized features to improve its performance in digital signal processing tasks.
