Working Principle

The TMS320DM6467 is based on C6000™ Digital Signal Processor family technology, ARM Cortex™-A8/A9/A15 processors, Vision Processing Unit (VPU) engines and rich plugin peripheral interfaces. The components like memory controllers and peripherals are placed around a high-frequency ARM Cortex-based core logic. Connected to the processor are twelve DSP cores, a VPU and multiple peripherals. These cores communicate with the processor through a shared memory map.

The ARM9 is the main processor of the DSP, and its role is to handle system control and interfacing functions. It is connected to a variety of peripherals, including NAND/NOR flashes, parallel flash controllers, SATA, USB, and DRM interfaces. The 12-core DSP is organized in 4 sets of 3 cores each.
