Working Principle of TSOP18556

When TSOP18556 faces to the transmitter, the preamplifier of TSOP18556 blocks allows signals generated from the photo detector to pass to the amplifier. In the amplifier, it will amplify the signal, and then the signal will output from the output pin. If the signal frequency is incorrect, the output signal will be shut down.

The special feature of TSOP18556 is the integrated preamplifier, which can provide high sensitivity and fast response. The photo diode can generate current when exposed to infrared radiation. This current is then amplified by the preamplifier with a wide bandwidth and high gain. The amplified voltage is then compared to a reference voltage in the fast comparator and if it exceeds the threshold level then the output signal will be active.
