TSOP34438 is an advanced integrated receiver based on a phospor-sensitive photodiode and a monolithic CMOS integrated circuit. It is packaged in small size with 18 pins. It is an ideal receiver for infrared remote control systems, and also can be used in various optical-electrical conversion applications.

Working Principle of TSOP34438
The TSOP34438 consists of a photodiode, an amplifier, a wave filter, an additional logic control and an active low power down mode. The photodiode is the main component of the TSOP34438, which is sensitive to infrared rays, thus when an infrared signal is received, the transmitted signal is converted into electrical current by devising the photodiode. After the electrical current is generated, it goes to the amplifier and wave filter which can filter out signals at an undesired frequency and then amplify the signal, so that an adequate level signal can be sent to the additional logic control. Finally the signal is outputted and can be used for controlling electronic products.
