Application Field
TSW-148-06-S-S is used in applications which require high temperature MATE-N-LOK connectors. The male pins of the connector are also used to transmit current in enclosures and panels with a temperature range from -55℃ to +105℃. It has an insulation housing and can be used for the electrical connection of wires or printing circuits. It is widely used in the automotive, telecommunications, rail and electric power industries.
Working Principle
TSW-148-06-S-S consists of multiple sets of two-piece MATE-N-LOK style plastic contacts, housings and fasteners. The contacts are separated by an insulation material and formed into a male pins. The two parts mate by screw engagement. The contacts are arranged so that the mating force is transmitted along the axial direction. The insulator is made of PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) and provides maximum insulation in high temperature applications.
The plastic housings and fasteners provide a strong interface between the mating parts. The housings are formed out of a high-performance polyester to provide mechanical strength. The reliability of connection is further improved by the use of two-piece contact bodies that absorb relative motion between the mating parts. The contacts also feature insulation displacement connectors (IDC) which ensure a secure connection when the contacts are mated.
The use of secure latch ensures that the two mating parts do not disconnect unintentionally. The latch consists of a locking tab which is engaged by a corresponding hooking portion in the other part of the connector. This prevents unintentional separation of the two parts.
