TX2SA-L2-4.5V Application Field and Working Principle
The TX2SA-L2-4.5V is one of the signal relays up to two amps with a specifications range from 5V/5V DC to 110V/110V AC and SPDT contacts.
TX2SA-L2-4.5V is mainly applied to telecom equipment, communication systems and audio/video system with a small volume of signal current (maximum current around 2A). Also due to its stability and ruggedness, this kind of relays can be used on small-size electric appliances where low level on/off switching is required.
Working Principle
The basic operating principle of this type of signal relays is simple. A current applied to the relay by an electromagnet, or coil, changes the shape of its metal core and the moving arm of the relay is pulled, or released, to open or close the contacts. This commutation is achieved mainly thanks to the air gaps in the magnetic circuit: when the coil is de-energized the air gaps create a high reluctance path for the magnetic flux, and the moving arm of the relay is pulled.
The relay actuates when the current passing through the coil exceeds the “pick-up current” (or initial current) level. This current is typically about 40-50 mA.
The relay will de-actuate when the current passes through the coil drops to a value lower than the “drop-out current” (or release current). This current is typically smaller than 5-10mA.
Types
The TX2SA-L2-4.5V signal relays come in two versions, with alternate current (AC) and direct current (DC). AC output relays are activated by a sinusoidal wave form, while DC output relays are activated by a continuous current signal.
TX2SA-L2-4.5V AC output relays come in several switch options, which include Single Pole, Double Pole, Single throw (SPST), Double throw (DPST), and Triple Throw (SP3T).
