It is a precision power supply regulator, with features such as average current mode gain and regulation and peak current limit, making it ideal for subsecond dynamic loads.The UCC2809PTR-1 integrates a 12V+ high side gate driver, provides gate drive current and voltage, and has a stable 8-bit PWM controller and command processor for internal and external loop control of pulse-width modulation (PWM) to regulate output voltages. UCC2809PTR-1 contains a low-power 8051 microcontroller core, embedded RAM and ROM; an integrated operational amplifier as well as an over-temperature comparator to set hysteresis temperature value; and temperature compensation curcuits to ensure regulation accuracy.The UCC2809PTR-1 can support up to 10A output current, and features the following features:• Eight-bit PWM resolution• Integrated Average Current Mode Control Loop• Maximum current limit with foldback• Internal VDDUVLO and UVV tracking• Over-temperature protection • Peak current limits for protection• Low power dissipation• Low parts count• Little external component neededThe UCC2809PTR-1 utilizes a PWM, high-voltage current-limiting control architecture. The converter senses the output current and adjusts the PWM duty cycle to maintain the desired output voltage. When the peak current limit is reached, the duty cycle is decreased and the peak current reduced.The device also has an integrated oscillator, periodic current limit reduction, UVV and VDDUVLO support, and an under-temperature alert comparator that triggers an interrupt when the temperature of the device exceeds the programmed threshold. The UCC2809PTR-1 also has a temperature regulator that helps maintain the accuracy of the current sensing, voltage loop gain, and duty cycle.UCC2809PTR-1 is ideal for applications such as standby power supplies, motor drives, SMPS, and portble and embedded products requiring high reliability.
