The UCC5390ECDWVR is an isolator-gate driver, which is widely used in many applications in the industrial, automotive, and consumer market sectors. This device is designed to be used as an isolator to provide electrical isolation from the source to the destination, as well as to provide gate-driving and related functions. The UCC5390ECDWVR provides a number of features designed to increase performance and reduce system cost. It is an isolator IC that is capable of 24W isolation (CEEN) and meets the requirements of UL-60950-1 and IEC-60950 for industrial/commercial applications. This device features advanced protection features including adjustable overvoltage, overcurrent, undervoltage, and short-circuit protection. It can provide variable output voltage and current up to 24W and compliant with the direct-drive requirements of EN60950-1.In terms of operation, the UCC5390ECDWVR performs two main tasks. Firstly, it provides electrical isolation with a high potential difference between source and destination circuits. The device uses a low-resistance structural bridge-isolated gate-drive to transmit information, signals and power between two isolated circuits. This allows for information exchange without direct electrical connection. The second main task is to provide gate-driving, which enables the control of devices such as motors, relays and transistors.
