Working Principle
The UCQ-2.5/40-D24PB-C DC DC Converter follows a switching topology which combines high efficiency with low standby current. Its internal circuit is composed of several devices, including a step-down transformer, a power switch, control circuits, and protection circuits.
When the power switch is enabled, the input voltage is transferred through the transformer, the control circuits regulate the voltage output in relation to the current passing through the converter, and the converter itself passes a regulated output voltage through the output terminals.
If at any point an over-current or temperature fault is detected in the converter, the internal protection circuits will shut down the power switch and the safety latch circuit will maintain the converter in this state, until a valid 0V signal is received on the remote on/off pin.
The UCQ-2.5/40-D24PB-C also features an adjustable output over-voltage protection circuit, allowing the output voltage to be limited based on the system requirement, and thereby avoiding any damage that would result from over-voltage on the output terminal.
