The US-SIGFOX-GEVB is an RF Evaluation and Development Kit with a range of applications. This kit can be used for product evaluation, as a development platform and/or arm the designer with the support needed to develop a product in a short time. The kit provides both the hardware and software necessary for efficient product development.

The physical set up of the US-SIGFOX-GEVB device consists of the US-SIGFOX core board, an extender board, an SMA-RF antenna cable, and a power supply. The US-SIGFOX core board comes with a Texas Instruments CC2650L4F processor that is integrated with a Low Power sub-GHz radio. On the extender board are several on-board sensors, including a light, temperature, humidity, accelerometer, and a microphone.

In terms of software the kit includes software development tools and sample applications, such as an RF protocol network stack, driver, application library, BLE stack, Processor SDK, and reference design and evaluation boards. The kit also allows full access to the cloud-based services of IoT network providers, including a “one-click” approach to configure devices for operation.

The US-SIGFOX-GEVB device works on the same principles as any other Wireless Sensing Network (WSN) by using a wide-area network (WAN) to transport data between various nodes. Each node consists of one or more transceivers that communicate data with each other. This data is then sent over the internet either through Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection.

To ensure that the data is properly transmitted and received, the US-SIGFOX-GEVB also features a range of protocol implementations, such as BLE4.0,6LowPAN, IPv6, CoAP, RESTful, BTLE, and other specific protocol packages. In addition, the US-SIGFOX-GEVB includes a built-in narrowband radio, specifically tuned to the Sigfox Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN). This narrowband radio enables the device to operate in a low-power mode while simultaneously allowing it to connect to multiple IoT, sensor, and actuator nodes.

The US-SIGFOX-GEVB kit provides a great platform for product evaluation of the internet of things (IoT) and development of RF applications.
