The V150CH8 Varistor belongs to the Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV) family. It is an AC power line protector that offers reliable protection against transient disturbances of very high energy. The device can safely absorb, dissipate, or divert discrete transient voltages while keeping the AC power line within acceptable limits. It is a non-linear resistor with a capacity to reduce voltage spikes in both the steady and transient states. This method offers excellent tolerance protection against a variety of AC transient threats. The transmitted power through the MOV is extremely low with a low-frequency response. Hence, it provides a high-performance solution in the protection against high-voltage transients. The V150CH8 is relatively immune to acceleration and vibration.
