TVS - Varistors, MOVs, are components that protect circuits from overvoltage transients. V20P25P is a common form of varistor or minimum off-state voltage regulator that provides linear cone opening adjustment. It is also used in applications for extreme voltage transient protection circuit.
A V20P25P consists of two metal oxide varistors (MOVs) and a thermistor. The MOVs offer protection against voltage spikes and current surges while the thermistor provides protection against abnormal temperature rise. The MOV clamp produces a linear frequency conduction character, allowing the maximum peak voltage to vary depending on the circuit\'s input frequency. The thermistor provides additional protection by controlling the RMS voltage produced by the MOVs.
V20P25P applications include circuit protection in AC and DC circuits, EMI/RFI noise reduction/filtering, inductive loads, and overvoltage protection in aviation. In order to ensure the highest level of surge protection, V20P25P must be carefully matched with the application circuit\'s operating current and voltage waveforms.
