The V48C5M50BN DC-DC Converter is a high-efficiency, low quiescent current, turbo DC-DC converter, and operates in a wide input voltage range from 8V to 40V and output voltage range from 0.8V adjustable to the VIN. It is designed for Point-of-Load, Networking, Broadband, Wireless and Portable Equipment applications.The V48C5M50BN DC-DC Converter is optimized for high-efficiency and highest power density applications, and can provide up to 50W of output power from a VIN range from 8V to 40V. The V48C5M50BN has a wide operating temperature range that covers from –40° C to +125° C junction temperature. The V48C5M50BN DC-DC Converter features very low quiescent current that is typically 1mV at no load, enabling the lowest power consumption in its class. This makes it ideal for use in low power applications such as battery operated systems, idle-mode, or high-efficiency de-rated applications.The V48C5M50BN DC-DC Converter is an easy-to-use, highly efficient, low-cost plug-and-play device that requires minimal external components. It works in an asynchronous step-down (Buck) converter topology, and uses a synchronous rectification topology to provide the highest available efficiency. It also provides adjustable output voltage from 0.8V to the VIN, making it ideal for a wide variety of Point-of-Load (POL) applications.The V48C5M50BN DC-DC Converter has a 1MHz switching frequency and employs a “Turbo” switching technique. This technique allows for the buck converter to operate in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) at light loads which results in improved light-load efficiency and less noise generation. The device also features advanced current and voltage limit protection, and short circuit protection.The V48C5M50BN DC-DC Converter has a wide range of applications including Point-of-Load, Networking, Broadband, Wireless and Portable Equipment applications. It is well-suited for any application that requires high power density and is highly sensitive to quiescent current. Due to its low cost, high efficiency, and wide operating temperature, it is a great choice for any application that requires reliable, highly efficient power conversion from a wide input voltage range.
