The V680-A81 uses the HF and UHF frequency band to broadcast a carrier wave that is modulated with a data flow. This carrier wave is received by the tag in the read range and then reactivated. The tag then responds by modulating its signal with the data stored in its memory.

The active RFID reader picks up this response signal, decodes it, and sends the data back to the simple server. The server recognizes the signal and performs a desired action, such as opening the gates, granting access, starting a machine, or launching a program.
